According to police, video from Saturday’s incident at the Old West End Festival shows a guy identified as Ka Nye Taylor, 20, shooting at another man before indiscriminately shooting into the crowd.
Taylor has been issued an arrest warrant on 11 counts of felonious assault. The second-degree felony accusations provide more information about the shooting, which sent 12 people to regional hospitals with gunshot wounds.
Taylor is seen on camera “near a beverage truck in the arboretum, firing a gun during a fight, as participants of the fight were separating,” according to police affidavits.
According to the records, he is also seen “firing indiscriminately throughout the crowd” after shooting at another person who is shooting.
The affidavits reveal the injuries experienced by 11 of the victims, including one shot in the head, another in the belly, and a third in the back. Multiple people were struck in the leg, arm, or foot.
The victims’ ages ranged from 14 to 61. At least nine of the casualties have been released from surrounding hospitals, and those who remain there are in stable condition, according to officials.
Just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to reports of a shooting at Delaware and Glenwood avenues. The examination also investigated scenes around Delaware and Robinwood avenues.
