A Maryland woman and her girlfriend were detained in Ohio and charged in connection with the death of the woman’s 67-year-old mother in Silver Spring, according to police.
Vanessa Wahanganisa Tjongarero-Henderson, 29, and Samantha Raebel, 36, were arrested Wednesday in Genoa, Ohio.
Montgomery County police said they had been looking for the pair since May 27. On May 26, officers responded to the Charter House apartment building in the 1300 block of Fenwick Lane to conduct a welfare check.
When cops arrived, they discovered Hilde Henderson, 67, deceased inside the home.
Henderson is believed to have been battered to death on May 22.
Tjongarero-Henderson and Raebel have each been charged with first-degree murder. According to authorities, the two are being jailed in Ohio pending extradition to Maryland.
The investigation is underway.
