The U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force nabbed a wanted fugitive in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Curtis Earl Heisler, 38, was detained on July 9th at 9 p.m. on the 2500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard. Heisler was sent to the Clark County Detention Center, where he will remain until extradited.
On May 30, he is accused of engaging in a pursuit with the Utah Highway Patrol. He is accused of making statements indicating that he was armed and dangerous. Heisler avoided police after the pursuit.
During the inquiry, the task force discovered that Heisler was in the Las Vegas region, and the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force was called to aid in his arrest.
Heisler is wanted by the Utah Adult Probation and Parole Department for parole violation, with an underlying charge of possession of a dangerous weapon.
“Crossing state lines adds miles but not protection. Regardless of how many state lines are crossed, our commitment to public safety remains unchanged. This fugitive’s attempt to flee justice has ended.” U.S. Marshal Gary Schofield stated.
