A Maryland Lottery player is holding a $30,000 Mega Millions winning ticket after Tuesday night’s drawing, and another unclaimed $20,000 ticket sold in Gaithersburg last month is still waiting to be claimed.
The $30,000 winning ticket was sold at the BP gas station at 5818 Martin Luther King Jr. Highway in Seat Pleasant. The winning numbers in the July 14 drawing were 2, 4, 10, 48, and 56, with a Mega Ball value of 22. The ticket correctly matched four of the first five numbers as well as the Mega Ball, earning a third-tier reward. The automatic X3 multiplier increased the $10,000 base prize to $30,000, effectively tripling it.
Meanwhile, Maryland Lottery officials remind players that two $20,000 Mega Millions tickets remain unclaimed, including one sold on June 23 at the 7-Eleven at 20211 Goshen Road in Gaithersburg. The other was sold on June 7 at Xtra Fuel in College Park.
No one matched all six numbers to win Tuesday night’s jackpot, which has now increased to an estimated $672 million for Friday’s drawing, with a cash option of around $293.3 million. Since the latest jackpot was won on March 17, Maryland players have earned over $4.6 million in Mega Millions prizes.
