A man wanted in connection with a 2024 murder in Pennsylvania was apprehended during a traffic stop on I-25 in Colorado on Tuesday, July 14.
According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), 46-year-old Anthony Kistle, who lived in Peyton, was detained Tuesday about 11 a.m. during a traffic stop on northbound I-25 near Castle Pines, Douglas County. According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Colorado State Patrol and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office aided in the arrest.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Anthony Kistle’s wife, Karen Kistle, was discovered dead at their shared house in Pike County, PA, on May 22, 2024, from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. However, after gathering information from witness interviews, forensics, and evidence collected at the scene, detectives found that there was sufficient evidence to show Karen Kistle’s gunshot wound was not self-inflicted.
The case was classified as a homicide, and Anthony Kistle was charged with criminal homicide, theft by unlawful taking of a firearm, and theft by unlawful taking of a vehicle.
Anthony Kistle is still in detention in Colorado and is set for an advisory hearing in Douglas County on July 17. PSP said he will be extradited to Pennsylvania to face charges in connection with his wife’s death.
