A 48-year-old Winter Haven man is facing many counts after being arrested on Tuesday nite while driving an illuminated golf cart.
Around 10:45 p.m., Polk County Sheriff’s officers stopped Juan Gonzalez-Reyes in the town of Wahneta after seeing he was driving a golf cart on a dark road.
During the stop, Gonzalez-Reyes provided authorities the name “Alberto” and a fictitious birth date. Deputies stated that he had slurred speech, wet eyes, and a strong alcohol odor.
They also discovered an open can of Modelo beer sitting next to him in the vehicle.
Gonzalez-Reyes was escorted to the Sheriff’s Processing Center and gave two breath samples. The tests revealed blood-alcohol readings of 0.243 and 0.239—roughly three times Florida’s legal driving limit of 0.08.
Gonzalez-Reyes was accused with driving under the influence and providing a false identification to an officer.
