A man believed to be missing Groveport resident Thurman Walker was discovered dead Friday evening, Groveport police confirm.
The Groveport Police Department reports that a body was discovered in a floodplain along Big Walnut Creek following an organized search involving numerous volunteer and public safety agencies.
Groveport police were notified of the discovery at 7:30 p.m., and they began recovery operations.
Walker, 75, was reported missing on August 19, near Bixby Ridge Drive in Groveport.
According to the missing person report, he suffered from memory loss and left his home but did not return.
The Franklin County Coroner’s Office will conduct a thorough inspection and identification process.
Police stated no more information would be disclosed until the coroner’s office completed its investigation.
