Pennsylvania State Police announced that a 20-year-old man has died following a car chase throughout Northern Pennsylvania.
According to officials, Christian Santiago took a firearm from a family member’s home and then sent a photo of it and the ammunition to his relatives.
His family obtained a mental health commitment warrant, and when Pennsylvania State Police attempted to stop him, he fled in a black Ford sedan.
Police discovered Santiago’s car at the Penn Can Travel Plaza in Harford and chased it south on I-81 to the Scranton Expressway.
authorities were able to halt Santiago, but he then displayed a revolver outside his car window, and authorities heard a gunshot from inside the vehicle.
Santiago was transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania, where he died.
The inquiry into this occurrence is ongoing.
