On Wednesday morning, SWAT officers in full tactical gear descended upon 653 Orange St. to execute a high-risk narcotics search warrant. Once the tactical units secured the premises, detectives from Lake County and the police departments of Clermont, Eustis, Groveland, and Leesburg moved in to conduct a thorough search of the property.
The search yielded a significant quantity of narcotics packaged and prepared for street distribution: approximately 7 ounces of cocaine, roughly 5 pounds of bagged marijuana, and an assortment of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators identified Jeremy E. Estrada as the operation’s primary target. Authorities took him into custody on three felony charges: trafficking in cocaine over 200 grams, possession of marijuana over 20 grams with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
For local narcotics units, the operation carried a distinct sense of familiarity.
In 2015, detectives had raided Estrada’s residence on the very same charges, seizing quantities of cocaine and marijuana intended for sale. That case resulted in Estrada serving a multi-year sentence within the Florida Department of Corrections.
Now facing identical charges years after his release, a judge ordered Estrada held without bond pending his first court appearance. Authorities cited both his extensive criminal history and the substantial volume of narcotics recovered from the Orange Street residence as primary justification for detaining him without bail.
