SOUTHERN OREGON – Jackson County Fire District is urging residents to use caution with open burning as warmer weather and dry conditions heighten fire risks. While many burns remained controlled, some still required emergency response.
Residents should keep burn piles small, keep water and a shovel close by, and never leave fires unattended. Officials recommend burning in the morning when temperatures are cooler.
The district also stresses the need for accurate fire reporting to avoid wasting resources. Residents should check fire conditions before contacting Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon.
