A 70-year-old man was recorded on surveillance footage transporting a shooting victim’s body through a Miami street inside a city garbage bin before fleeing the scene on a moped, according to law enforcement officials.
Officers responded to the intersection of Northwest 14th Avenue and Northwest 59th Street late Sunday evening after a passerby discovered the disturbing scene. Inside the container, investigators found a man dressed in boxer shorts and a T-shirt, positioned face-down with gunshot wounds to the face.
Security camera footage captured an individual wearing a neon safety shirt pushing the bin along the road before escaping on a moped. A trail of blood droplets led investigators to a nearby residence, where they recovered a shell casing, blood spattered across the living room ceiling, and a bedroom that had been deliberately cleaned in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence.
Authorities arrested Danny Barbee after identifying him as the individual depicted in the surveillance footage.
Barbee attributed the killing to an unidentified shooter, stating to detectives that he had merely been visiting a woman he knew as “Gang Gang.” According to his account, an argument erupted in the bedroom, an unknown individual opened fire, and the gunman allegedly placed the wounded victim into the bin before firing two additional shots through a pillow. Barbee further claimed that “Gang Gang” directed him to dispose of the body, prompting him to wheel it out into the street under the cover of night.
Barbee is currently held at Miami-Dade Jail on charges of corpse abuse and tampering with evidence, with bond set at $15,000. The identity of the victim has not been publicly released, and the suspected shooter remains at large.
