PORTLAND, Ore. – After a rain-free weekend, Monday begins dry, with rain chances holding off until Tuesday.
A total lunar eclipse will light up the sky late tonight and early Tuesday, drawing all eyes upward.
Known as the Blood Moon, the eclipse will begin just after midnight and continue until about 6:30 a.m.
“Depending on fog that could form, we’re only expecting some higher thin clouds overnight, so if you have clearing, you should be able to see the eclipse,” said Digital Meteorologist Bobby Corser. “The best bet locally to see the eclipse would be east of the Cascades.”
Rain moves back in late Tuesday morning and will linger through the weekend. While the valley sees rain, the Cascades will pick up snow.
We’re slowly adding to a base that has faced a severe deficit this winter.
High temperatures Tuesday through Sunday week will top out in the lower 50s, while morning low temperatures will be in the lower to mid 40s.
