A beloved U.S. doctor was tragically discovered dead in a “horrible” hunting accident earlier this week.
Dr. Juston Gates of Missouri participated at the opening of the turkey hunting season. Unfortunately, his outing ended in disaster.
The well-known doctor from the United States was in Oklahoma, hunting turkey with his friends. The president of Missouri Baptist Children’s Home was at Mangum, southwest Oklahoma, for a turkey hunt. Another hunter inadvertently shot and killed him.
Investigators say Gates was on a turkey hunt in Mangum, southwest Oklahoma, when one of the men he was with inadvertently shot him on April 16. Gates was taken to OU Health in Oklahoma City in serious condition, but he died of his injuries a week later, according to Lacie Lowry.
“After the medical team determined there was no further neuro activity, the family made the decision, and Juston was able to donate his kidneys and heart valves.” Other families were able to benefit from this tragedy.”
The Missouri Baptist Children’s Home is grieved by his death.
“Dr. Gates went to be with the Lord while his family stood by his side. He was well-known for his devotion and obedience to Jesus Christ. He cared deeply about his family, both at home and at MBCH. “Dr. Gates will be greatly missed by all who knew him,” the statement said.
An official investigation regarding the death is ongoing.
May he rest peacefully.
