Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III stated yesterday that a 39-year-old Fall River man pleaded guilty in Fall River Superior Court to trafficking over 36 grams of cocaine in November 2022 and a domestic attack and stabbing resulting in serious bodily injury in June 2023.

The Honourable Thomas Perrino condemned Trajaun Albert to state prison for 10 to 12 years. Assistant District Attorneys Nicole Cheney and Daniel Walsh prosecuted the case.

On November 21, 2022, Fall River Police were conducting surveillance along Choate Street when they spotted Albert. As officers attempted to approach him, he fled and tossed something over a chain-link fence into the yard of 81 Bedford Street. The defendant was later apprehended and found in possession of a weapon and a bag of cocaine. Fall River police discovered and seized several bags of crack cocaine that Albert had thrown over the fence. He also had $1,273 cash in his wallet.

On June 2, 2023, at about 9:30 p.m., Fall River police responded to 41 Webster Street. The woman told police that Albert, whom she was seeing, had come home intoxicated and accused her of cheating on him. When the victim left the apartment building, the defendant pursued her and dragged her by her hair back inside. A neighbour, who was outside at the time, called the police. Albert fled the area on foot and was not found by authorities at the time.

On June 16, 2023, at about 6:00 a.m., Fall River police responded to 41 Webster Street. When the police arrived, they found the woman extremely distraught, with blood over her face and chest. The victim stated that Albert showed up uninvited at her flat that morning and stated that he wanted to get his possessions. When the victim allowed the defendant into the apartment, he followed her to the bedroom and pushed her onto the bed. The victim stated that he removed a black pistol from his waistband, as well as a pocketknife. Albert put the knife blade near her right eye and said, “I am going to take your eyes out and then turn myself in.” The defendant then sliced her face multiple times, leaving the victim bleeding throughout the flat. The victim tried to fight Albert off, and he eventually escaped the apartment through the back door. The victim went to a neighbour’s house for help. Police discovered blood on the victim’s clothing, beds, flooring, and apartment walls. Police discovered a knife immediately outside the back door, adjacent to storage bins containing the defendant’s belongings and his Massachusetts ID. Officers investigated the area but were unable to find the handgun. While officers were on the scene, Albert turned himself in to the Fall River Police Department. He wore garments with evident blood stains. The sufferer was sent for medical care for multiple lacerations and a fractured nose.

Albert has a history of narcotics, guns, and assaultive charges, having served time in both federal and state prisons.

“The defendant is a career criminal who simply needs to be kept off the streets for a long time to protect the victim and the public,” District Attorney Tom Quinn stated.
